Can my business use Fusion 360 for free?
  • If your business generates less than $100,000 (or the local equivalent) per year from the total sale of goods or services, you may sign up for free use of Fusion 360.
  • If your business generates more than $100,000 (or the local equivalent) per year from the total sale of goods or services, you can obtain a 30-day free trial of Fusion 360, but after that you'll need to purchase licenses.
My business generates more than $100,000 per year, but we don't use Fusion 360 to create what we're selling. Do we still have to purchase licenses?
  • Autodesk doesn't make a distinction between use of Fusion 360 to design parts for manufacture and use of Fusion 360 to design tools or parts to assist manufacturing. If your business generates more than $100,000 per year (or the local equivalent), you'll need to purchase licenses.
I'm a hobbyist and don't intend to sell what I make. Can I obtain free use of Fusion 360 for my non-commercial purposes?
  • If you are an individual or group that wants to use Fusion 360 for non-commercial purposes, you may sign up for free use of Fusion 360.
Can students and educators obtain free Fusion 360 licenses?
  • If you are a student or educator, you can sign up for free use of Fusion 360.
I began using Fusion 360 as a hobbyist, but I've started selling some of the things I made. Do I still qualify for a free license?
  • If you're generating less than $100,000 (or the local equivalent) per year from everything you're selling, you still qualify for free use of Fusion 360.
  • If you're generating more than $100,000 (or the local equivalent) per year from everything you're selling, you'll need to switch to a paid license. You'll be able to keep your current username and password and can continue to access your data.

Solution:

  1. Go to https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/overview
  2. Select Download Free Trial
  3. This will put you in trial mode to start, but you can register for any entitlement by following the links in the following article:
How to activate Start-up, Student or Educational licensing for Fusion 360
Note: If you already purchased Fusion 360, or are re-installing, the above will still work.
Once you sign in for the first time, the entitlement will be checked and you will be taken off of trial mode.

You can also perform the following steps to download Fusion 360 from your Autodesk Accounts page if you have already subscribed to Fusion: Where is the pst file located.
  1. Visit http://manage.autodesk.com
  2. Sign in and navigate to the All Products and Services Tab
  3. Find Fusion 360
  4. Off to the right hand side is a download button
